ouch!!

so before i slept, only my legs were aching.

after i woke up.........

i want a butt massage
i want a back massage
i want a leg massage

any offers? kidding!!

sports sunday

aching, exhausted, tired...

today:
10 - 11.30 :Netball
11.30-1.30: Volleyball
1.30-3 : Soccer

netball was way better than yesterday. this is what i call a real friendly match. lost count of the scores at the end but who cares? they don't call it a friendly match for no reason! meant to have fun for a friendly match. Laughed so much, laughed till tummy ache. But that's good pain...hehehe...

volleyball after that. still suck at it. still don't know how to play. still scared of the ball. still playing like a coward. still slow. argh!! where's the lion in me when i need it? hehehehe...must learn to bring the lion out when i play...RAWR!!!

today was the first time i played soccer. most of the soccer guys probably still sleeping coz of dv8, so they didn't come. us girls then decided to join in and play for fun. haha! yingswan scored one goal!!!! woohooo!!!! she not in my team but was so happy for her!! wahahahahhaahaha... wooot!!! got kicked on the leg by her later tho but it's all good....i'm ok!! really! this time i'm really ok...heeheee...just lucky it's not my left leg...hehehe....

showered, went home and now i'm really sleepy... i'm too lazy to blog about yesterday. read yingswan's blog to know about my day yesterday coz i basically went through nearly the same thing as her.

netball >> crowne plaza >> lunch >> study >> SHOWER >> dinner

well, she didn't blog about the shower part coz she didn't shower before dinner. I semi-showered. Why didn't we shower when we had so much time before dinner? Well, here's how it goes:

After lunch, we decided not to shower coz everytime after we shower at the gym, we'll get sleepy and won't be able to study. Hence we decided to shower after we study. After our study, we went to the rec centre and realized it was close!! we didn't know it closed at 5.30!! GRrRR!! i still wanted my shower so bad because I don't want to shower when i go home, it would be too late and too cold. We were thinking of going to someone's apartment but not nice larrr so we decided to go to the toilet at level 4 and change. Whereas for me, I still wanted my shower and I did get mine! I showered by the sink in the disabled toilet.

Procedure:
1. take off clothes
2. dampen the body using wet tissue then rub soap all over using the hand soap provided.
3. wipe the soap off using wet tissue again or splash water
4. wipe body dry
5. place foot into sink and wash with soap and rinse
6. dunk the whole head into the sink and wash hair
7. dry hair
8. change

ta-da!!!! so clean!!! smart lerrr?? heeheee... next time if the gym close and u need to shower, u could do that too! Remember, do it at level 4 coz the toilets are empty.

ok ok, my eyes can hardly open already. want to take a nap then later wake up and get some study done. really had heaps of fun this weekend, laughed so much till tummy ache. Man!! sometimes i wonder....what would i do without umsa?

no umsa = no sports sunday = no discovery of awesome bunch of ppl = no great weekends!

Bye and have a wonderful week!!!

day 3...today's a good day

-waking up early yet feeling fresh
-enjoying a self-cooked breakkie - bagels and eggs!
-no traffic jam despite being a working day.
-attending a lecture that turned out to be super funny
-cracking up silly jokes during lunch

i love today. i love it when those things happen.

plus, it's going to be full on this weekend! can't wait!!!!! actually, it's here already! just have to sleep, wake up later and hello saturday!!

I've finished my day 3 dunedin trip.

here's an extract from it.. hehehehe

"I gave up on waiting to spot an albatross. Went to the albatross centre for toilet break. When I came out, Darren said that there's an albatross outside and I looked and saw it but was only for a second or so. But I did see one ok!!!! It's one huge bird!! Couldn't tell that it's wing is 3m long but definitely more than a few inches..."

interesting? if yes, go read the rest of it here:

360?

today started off just like any other ordinary day. go to lectures, study in between, come home, go online and feel happy. but today, it didn't end too well. i ended my day feeling confused, lost, worried, helpless and stressed up.

it all happened after i picked my brother up from the uni at 8pm. he came in and he started talking about the 360 exchange programme with my mom. he talked about all his plans, which country he's looking into going and the reasons and so on. looks like he did quite a lot of research in just a day.

then it came to me. this is where the normal me started feeling shitty as i still don't have any idea what i want to do in the future. what do i want out of this course? What do i want to do after i graduate? Where do i want to work? What kind of job will i be doing? What am i aiming for? So many questions, I don't have any answers to them.

Mum said it was alright to go into uni not knowing all these but by now, i should know after being exposed to my course. By now I should have a slight idea as to where I'm heading to, so i can choose which university i want to go to for my 360, what kind of experience i want to gain out of this and what kind of papers I should take and also, the reasons!

It got me all worried. I don't want to graduate and be jobless. I'm confused. I really don't know what I want. I wanted to just study, get a permanent head damage and be called Dr.Chan. Why do I want that? Ok, for some childish reason - I want to be special. I don't want to just be Ms.Chan, I want to be Dr.Chan. But, there's no point getting a permanent head damage and still be jobless. I'm lost. It's kinda hard to explain the feeling I'm having. It's just...... just not a nice feeling. *sigh* I'm thinking, maybe i'm not mature enough yet to be sensible, still having the mind of a young child - just want to have fun.

man! should i even be feeling like this at all? Is it still alright to have that just-go-with-the-flow attitude? if it is, i want to do that and just see where the current takes me.
------------------------------------------------------
ok, was chatting while blogging this. it's 11pm now btw. now i'm feeling much better. the miracles of msn-ing. my source of laughter. not bad eh? thanks to those who were online and chat with me. you people made my day. at least now, it didn't end bitter :D

day 2!!

If you have to go for a weigh-in and have to be under a certain weight and you're sitting on the borderline, do a handstand for maybe a minute or so then only go for the weigh in. you would be lighter. I haven't try this for myself, just learnt it yesterday. Go try it out and tell me!!

Had functional anatomy lab today at 8.30 in the morning. Crazy!! Freaking cold!!! So did not want to take off my clothes but had to. And they promise to make sure the lab is well-heated, whatever!! I was freezing the whole time, so was eleanor. In bikinis and boardshorts on a winter morning, damn cold!! Stupid heaters!!! And our hands are cold so when we touch the other person, they will be even colder. Just like when u touch ur face with ur cold hands, that's the feeling. Two more weeks of this, can't wait for it to be over. Don't like it at all, must be so accurate with the markings and all that. Ho-ho-ho! Next week we'll be pinching each others fats!!! How "exciting"...

OoOOoO!! I completed my day 2 dunedin trip completely. With photos and everything!
here's the link : www.geocities.com/waterdivablog/dunedin1.html

don't want to put it in here because it'll make the entry super long coz i did put quite a number of photos in it.

I realized I have been quite wordy these days again. So before I leave, here's a picture from day 2 :p. Go to the link above to read about it :)

this is me at speights brewery tour

Enjoy the remainder of the week!!!

rat dissection

rat dissection in medsci 142 lab today:

- the rat stinks so bad. thank goodness i only had a banana for lunch :)
- sprayed heaps of deodarant on my lab coat so when i breathe, i breathe thru my lab coat.
- my rat was killed just before it wanted to poo. Hence, i saw a tiny bit of shit on its ass. reminds me of small shitheads :-p
- realized my rat is a male. pulled out a pair of something and didn't kno what it was. ask one of the lab supervisors... here's what i got from him: "omg!! you're so mean! u ripped his testicles!!!! how could you?". ehehehehe... sorry mr.rat!!

1st week back! semester 2

Back to school! 1st week of semester 2 was alright. But it sucks how I have to wake up at 6 from tuesday to thursday because my brother have classes from 8-9. At least I wasn't alone during my lunch breaks which is good.

monday: finished class at 10am so went home straight.
tuesday: met up with yin, yingswan, wei en, henry and kevin for lunch
wednesday: met up with yingswan and kevin for lunch
thursday: went to gym with my brother
friday: went to umsa stall, saw henry, david, chris, wibian and other ppl i do not know. yingswan and kevin turned up later.

by the looks of it, i won't be alone during my lunch breaks this semester! on some days, i would go and study, some days can meet up with people for lunch. ahh! how nice!!

Now now, the academic side of semester 2. With the course manuals all being handed out already, I have a feeling it's going to be a busier semester compared to the last one.

Sports and Society- it's sociology. don't really have right or wrong answers. to me, it's something like psychology, easy to understand but when you look at the questions, you would be like :"huh?". I hate that kind of feeling. The kind of feeling when you're not exactly sure whether you're on track or not. Also, assignments in essay form! Lots of readings and research- something i hate but i know this will come sooner or later in uni.

Functional Human Anatomy- To me right now, it's very technical and requires precise and accurate measurements. First topic, anthropometry- learning how to measure skinfolds. And just how are we going to learn that? We're going to do it on each other. Hence, lab sessions for the next 4 weeks will be filled with half-naked students. Guys in shorts, girls in bikinis and shorts. Hello? Mid-winter? Are you kidding me? The labs better be well-heated and my spare tyres better be gone by this wednesday. How embarassing!! Shermayne's going to the gym this Monday and Tuesday!

Medsci 142- Errr...not much comment on this except that the course book isn't as detailed as biosci107. This means I have to make my own notes and i always fear making irrelevant notes. No, I haven't been to this first lab yet but apparently we'll be dissecting rats! I'm fine with that after dealing with cadevers the last semester.

Spanish for beginners- took this as my general education paper. Oh my goondusami! 103 bucks on textbook and workbook! Far out! Shouldn't have taken this paper. My money!!! *starts beating myself up*

My current important dates for first half of semester 2:
1/8/2006: Spanish hwk assignment 1 due- 5%
7/8/2006: Spanish Cecil Test #1 due- 3%
10/8/2006: Sport and Society written assignment due- 10%
15/8/2006: Spanish hwk assignment 2 due- 5%
22/8/2006: Spanish test 1 (50 mins test on lesson 1-3)- 10%
24/8/2006: Functional Human Anatomy Mid-semester Exam- 20%
25/8/2006: Sport and Society In-class test- 15%

Way much more important dates compared to semester 1. I don't like it. Not used to it. Then again, it's still not as bad as other courses I guess. Hence, I think I should just shut my mouth and stop complaining.

Now now, I can't wait for the weekend to come!

Saturday: friendly netball match against KAC, dinner at night and bubble tea perhaps?
Sunday: Sports Sunday i hope!!

Ok, that's it for now, have a great week ahead!!

ps:/ i'm on day 5 of my bersatu trip still. Ehehe...someone pls shoot me!

there's nothing wrong being single

have always been listening to this song on the radio but never really bothered to listen to the lyrics properly... came across yiwen's blog and saw the lyrics to it...WOW! i was impressed with it, feel sort of "connected" to it...

SINGLE by NATASHA BEDINGFIELD

Ah yeah that's right
All you single people out there
This is for you

I'm not waitin' around for a man to save me
(Cos I'm happy where I am)
Don't depend on a guy to validate me
(No no)
I don't need to be anyone's baby
(Is that so hard to understand?)
No I don't need another half to make me whole

Make your move if you want doesn't mean
I will or won't
I'm free to make my mind up you either got it or you don't

[Chorus:]
This is my current single status
My declaration of independence
There's no way I'm tradin' places
Right now a star's in the ascendant

I'm single
(Right now)
That's how I wanna be
I'm single
(Right now)
That's how I wanna be

Ah yeah Uh Huh that's right

Don't need to be on somebody's arm to look good
(I like who I am)
I'm not saying I don't wanna fall in love 'cos I would
I'm not gonna get hooked up just 'cos you say I should
(Can't romance on demand)
I'm gonna wait so I'm sorry if you misunderstood

[Chorus]

Everything in it's right time everything in it's right place
I know I'll settle down one day
But 'til then I like it this way it's my way
Eh I like it this way

Make your move if you want doesn't mean I will or won't
I'm free to make my mind up you either got it or you don't'
Til then I'm single

This is my current single status
My declaration of independence
There's no way I'm tradin' places
Right now a star's in the ascendant

Whereas for mine, i blab too much. so yea.. go there and read hers. my trip is almost the same as to hers as i've been travelling with her since day 1!

my brother's backk!!

FAMILY comes FIRST!!!

Click was a good movie... and watching it with my brother couldn't be any better... it was 8.25pm at home when my brother and i were just talking about movies and he was telling me what movies he watched in msia and what movies he still wanted to watch. it was Click, Over the Hedge and Pirates of the Carribean. we both agreed that superman sucked... i told him we could use my two free tickets i got to watch over the hedge or click.

him: let's go watch a movie now!! let's watch Click!
me: right now? tonight?
him: ya!! ya!!
me: errrr..... are u serious?
him: yahh! why not? nothing to do now what! come, let's go check the times!
(he went to the website and searched the times..highland park which is 5-10mins drive frm my house have one showing at 8.35, queen st at 9.20)
him: which one you want?
me: u think can make it in time for the 8.35? now 8.30 already...
him: if we go right now, can!!
me:ok!!! i go find the free tickets
(we reached there at 8.40 and there was a long queue)
him: aiyaa... we go city lar...half an hour, sure can make it.

so yea, we went and watch it in the city. was lucky to get a parking quite near to the queen st. dno what street is it. it's the street below albert park. had a great time spending time with my brother tonight though it was only for a few hours. missed him so much!! 3 weeks you know!! i think our brother-sister bond is pretty strong ....hehehe.... love him so much!!! gave him a big big hug when i came home..heeeheee.... he told me stories about his trip back to msia and his skiing trip, we got a white chocolate mocha frappucino (largest size) and brought it into the cinema, we talked about our next semester and how the transport arrangement is gna be, talked about my exercise prescription paper and how he wants me write a training programme for him ....

him: eh! u got A- for ur exercise prescription paper, go write me a programme. i got such a big gap in between my classes. 9-4 on tues, wed, and thurs.
me: errrr..ok. but i need to get out all my notes and read through first.
him: ok, u do that. u test me second week lar, now my body also aching.
me: yahhh...sure...hopefully my programme will be effective..haha! u are my guinea pig!!
him: eh! i want an A+ training programme arrr...not A- u know!
me: try larr...time will tell.. so what u want out of it?
him: err.... i want abs. i also want power and endurance, but more on power. like i want power to swim 50m but at the same time, i want to be able to last for 100m as well. don't really need like 200m, 400m like that kind of endurance larr.... i also want to lose my fat. eh! when i lose my fat arr...means can see the abs already larr, right?
me: yahhh.. i think it works like that...haha!
him: and also i would bulk up a little bit from the training for power, right?
me: i think so...should be larr.. sounds logic... but not like those bodybuilder larr...
him: yahh.. i dun want bodybuilder look.... ok ok, u go right for me arrr...
me: so, what days u want to workout and for how long per session?
him: tues to thursday at the gym lor....
me: wahh, after u tired then how to go lecture?
him: aiyo! 9-4 larr u!! i work out first, then later can still go take a nap then go lecture larrr...just work out 1-1.5 hrs can already... that's enough right?
me: yahhh..it's enough...(wahh..that time exam write a 4 wk training programme, 1 hr per session already so tough, of course i say 1 hour long enough larr)

wahhh.. i really hope i will manage to write a training programme for him and it wld be interesting and it wld work! it better work!!! anyhuuuzzz... i told him my results as well and he was happy for me.. he said this semester, aim for 2 A's, 2A-.... wahhh!!! but it's quite reasonable... it would only be unreasonable if he ask me to aim for A+...haha!! he got 2A+ and one A last semester..... my brother's a genius!

now now, let's add more uni free time....on tues and thurs, i've got more free time from 3-4... hmmn...that shall be gym or study... then on wednesday, it will be 3-5... so yea, looks like i got quite a lot of free time in uni... a lot of study time and i better make full use of this. and occassionally, meet up with friends. hehe.. settle!!

ok, time for bed now. thanks koko for tonight!!! glad u're finally back!!! weeeeeeeee!!! hope we'll fight less this semester...wahahahaha!! definitely will....

btw, i really recommend the movie CLICK! it's more than a comedy movie. actually learnt something from it. i think it was written in a really nice way. and oh! well done to umsa volleyball team for coming second!! really a nail-biting game to watch...

semester 2 timetable

i don't really like my semester 2 timetable. so widely spread which means i will be spending more time at uni and going home later than semester 1. Last semester, usually finish class at 1.30 except on tuesdays and alternate wednesdays. Most of my classes were one after another, which means i need not wait, usually only wait one hour a day.

Semester 2 looks quite sucky. Everyday except Monday, confirm 3pm only finish class. A lot of waiting involved. Except on odd mondays where i finish class at 10am!! But even mondays sucks the most!! have to wait from 10-2!! 4 hours of wait!! gonna die of boredom! and most of my friends have their labs on thursday instead of monday, so gay!

here's my free times with 30 mins of travelling to city from tamaki taken out.
Even Mondays: 10-2
Tuesdays: 10-11, 1-2
Wednesdays: 1-2
Thursday:10-11, 1-2
Friday: 1-2

i dread the 1-2 waiting the most coz don't have friends to wait with me. No one i know in sportscience taking spanish. the 10-11 wait not that bad coz all the sportscience ppl have to wait as well. wahahahaha.... so yea, 1-2....anyone care to have lunch with me? yingswan u better not have tutorials between 1-2!! hahaha...then u can be my lunch buddy! hehehe...

now i just hope my brother don't finish at 6 everyday!! if not, another waiting session from 3-6!! lolx! if that's the case, i'll use those time studying and be a good girl. Gotta work harder this semester. Apparently medsci 142 is tougher than biosci 107. I want to get an A for at least one paper!!!! A+ would be even better. That's my goal this semester. hehehehe.... Got some results out from last semester. A- for biosci 107 and exercise prescription. B+ for anatomy. What a shock!!! A-!!!heeeheeee...finallyy!!!! But for anatomy, ishhh.... i spent so much time and PAPER studying for it, drawing up those stupid diagrams. if my anatomy were to be A- and exercise prescription B+, then i would be more satisfied. hahahaha!!! swap the grades around!!! ohhh wellzzz..i'm very satisfied with those results. hehehehe.... but still, haven't got up to my brother's standard yet. Getting there, getting there..... i need all A+ and A's to reach his standard. Better be this semester coz next year sure no chance already, it wld be tougher. haha!! screw psychology, i just want to pass, i better pass!!!

day 1 at dunedin

movie last night was alright...well, it's better than superman larr... but i didn't really like the ending coz there's so many stuff i still wanna know.... ohh wellz, will just have to wait for the next one which is........ don't know when.... but yea, lots of funny part in the movie, just can't help laughing the way captain jack sparrow runs... damn sissy-ish...haha!! while we were watching the movie, junaidi helped us exchange our photos...thanks ya!!

i've decided not to post all 10 days on my trip all at once... it would be too long to read...so i'm going to do it one by one...hehehehe.... so now, here's my first day.....

29th june
Woke up at 6, flight at 7.15. latest check-in time is 6.45. was meant to leave the house at 6. so yea, reached the airport at 6.47 but thank goodness still can check in. phew!! scary man!! it was a close call. reach dunedin airport at 9 smth, took a shuttle to Nextstop backpackers. 74 bucks for 4 nights, pretty good price. the place was warm and cosy and they had a kitchen where we can COOK. after settling down, we (me, yingswan, weechin) started walking to octagon at 10.30 coz hd to meet up with yin, zaf, wei en, darren and david at 11. well, guess what? it was only a 5 mins walk. ishh!! yes, dunedin city is really small, so much smaller compared to auckland and kinda hard to get lost. walked around the octagon not knowing it was the octagon, just thought it was just streets. then later went to info centre.

at 11, the rest came. paid for our cadbury and speights tour for the next day. after that, walked along george st which is something like queen st in auckland. ate lunch at meridian mall, quite impress with it, it has more than 1 level!!!! like yingswan said, it reminds me of klcc. after that, walked to the uni... otago uni looks way way impressive than auckland uni. the building structures are just amazing. well, i seen it before when i was really young but yea, now had a better look at it. really WOW!!! i think that was the reason why i wanted to go to otago uni so much last time.

Thank goodness i changed my mind. why? coz later we went to yin's friend's house. the area wasn't really a pleasant sight to me. u can see shoes hanging on the telephone lines, grafitti on walkways, the houses looked sort of run-down to me, and apparently her friend don't even have internet in her house!! wahh seh!i won't be able to survive!!

went to countdown later on and bought some food. thanks david for carrying my stuff. went back to backpackers to rest before dinner. yingswan and weechin fell asleep. yin, me, darren and david decided to play shithead. never knew being a shithead can really make u feel so shitty!!! last time all the while when i played with the swimmers, we didn't feel THAT shitty, but this one....wahhhh.... they can really rub it in man....

at night, had dinner at asian restaurant.. yes, the restaurant itself is called ASIAN restaurant. how INTERESTING. the food was... let's just say it's not as good as auckland's asian restaurants. it wasn't really cold the day we arrived.quite ok. expected it to be colder. well, maybe it was coz i was wearing two thermals and two hoodies!! haha!

my first day comments on dunedin: dunedin has lots of nice buildings like the churches, railway station, university buildings...mostly ERECTED by the people of otago. but after awhile, they all looked sort of the same. just like nz itself. it has lots of nice sceneries but after awhile, they looked the same. sea and hills, sheeps and cows. another thing i realized is that otago-ians LOVE using the word ERECTED. what's up with that? sorry, i just find that word a wee bit disturbing. maybe it's coz the first time i see it being used was for........ u get what i mean, i need not elaborate. i'm not a dodgy person ok... :p

italy won!!!

i had 13 hrs of sleep straight on saturday night....

on sunday, had dim sum.. the desserts were yummy!! what a coincedence...hweigjin and siewaun had dim sum as well.... lolx!!! 3 ex-ksas swimmers in nz had dim sum...wahhahahaa!!

this morning woke up at 5.30 to watch the finals for world cup... haha! the only match i watch and it was interesting.... at the start that is....first 20 minutes and both sides scored one goal each.....syokk... then the rest was just BORING.... was watching it with my dad so i told him when they score a goal, wake me up and then i'll watch the replay.... nearly towards the end, i woke up just in time!!! zidane went psycho and randomly hit Materazzi using his head.... i was just like.....what the?? and then started laughing... wahahahahaha!!! shame on him!!!! hehehehe.... it all came down to penalty shots.. i LOVE watching penalty shots... coz most likely the ball will go in... hehehehe.. as i said earlier on, i only like watching soccer when the ball masuk the goal..heeeheee... so yea, that was interesting.... hahaha! italy won...lalalalalala!!!!! i support italy coz i don't like france..... i don't like france coz brazil lost to france and that time i was supporting brazil so i angry with france... so yea, i'm happyy...wahahahhaa!!!

after that, went back to sleep for an hour then had to wake up to go all the way to northshore for accupuncture. he said my ankle is looking good, healing fast, still swollen but most of the blood vessels have been repaired... now is just the muscle that's all tensed up....was really pain when he pressed it....mom said my face turned pale when he was massaging it.... seriously damn pain ok!! but hehehe....at least he didn't ask if i ran or jump while i was in otago... he probably assumed i stayed in and walk as little as possible whilst i was there... this means the running and jumping i did didn't make it worst..i still managed to heal...hah!!! *sticks tongue out* =p...

tonight going to watch pirates of the carribean with yingswan, hweigjin and henry... at least got something to look forward to.. damn bored.. don't think can sleepover at yingswan's since i still hv another appointment for accupuncture on wednesday...gahh!!!
