I guess I never learnt .. The past haunts me...
I tried to alter my navy pants this morning. Figured I should do it before the prac exams next week and saved some money by doing it myself instead of taking it to a shop and alter it. Mind you, I have not alter a pants before. There's always mummy or kakak to do it. I only know how to sew buttons and seal off ripped pants/shirts.
So.. the alteration begins...
Halfway through, I realized .... I did the same mistakes I did when I was 13. Basically, I threaded in a wee bit too deep and went over to the other side and sealed off the pants and can't put my legs through it!!!!! Ahhhhh!! How smart. When I was 13, we had to sew designs on a bag during KH. My design was pretty good. But one thing was .... I couldn't open the bag after that because I went over to the other side and sealed the opening.
8 years down the road.... and I never learnt.
I was taking ages to alter the pants and it just pissed me off as I had to do it all over again. Had to cut the thread, pull off the tiny bits away and started all over. I took a long time just to open the sealed pants. *sigh*
Then I started again and this time checking every so often that I did not thread through too deep. Took me over 2 hours just to alter the pants. Ran out of black thread so basically it's not fully sewed. But as long as it holds up, it's all good.
I ironed it and tried it on.
And now... I realized... it's still a wee bit too long and dragging on the floor ... *sighs*
No, i'm not going to redo it AGAIN. I'll just leave it as it is. Maybe this summer I might redo it for next year when I do go out for placements and have to wear it everyday. Or then again, maybe I'll just bring it home and ask mum to do it for me this winter :p Haha!!
So much for saving money on alteration eh?
Thread and needles just don't go well with me :p
