Boston

20/12

After my last paper and evacuating my apartment, it was time to head to Boston. As I wanted to save money from catching a Metro to get to the bus station, I decided to walk. So how bad can a 15 minutes walk be? Well, carrying a super large, heavy backpack along with a laptop bag, a sling bag, a huge plastic of food and a pair of shoes can be pretty tiresome. So how heavy is the big backpack? It was so heavy that the strap of my backpack snapped when I reached the bus station. *sigh* And how much did I save? $1.75 ... cizzzz... not worth it at all...

21/12

Arrived Boston early in the morning along with Kim and Sham. The backpackers we stayed was quite a distance from downtown Boston. Thank goodness Kim and Sham didn't bring much with them so Sham helped to carry my heavy, broken backpack to the metro and then to the backpackers.

After checking in, we decided to walk around the area...

Snow snow ... not as much as Montreal but it was very pretty with all the snow on the trees ...very beautiful .. just adds to the christmas mood :)

Fenway Park: Home of the Red Sox!! didn't go in there but yeaa...hehehehe... I was there :p

Prudential Centre: Suppose to go to the observatory so that we can see the whole of Boston but had to pay entry fees. And since the weather was pretty bad and cloudy, we figured we wouldn't be able to see anything (just think of that gondola ride in Chch ... haha! all white.. lolx!). We did go to the very top floor though. Haha! That lift ride was free. We got to the top floor, saw the entry fees then came down

Next, we headed back to our backpackers for a 3 hour nap before the basketball game as we didn't get to sleep much on the bus.

3 hours later ...

We headed to Chinatown ... not as nice as NYC's chinatown. Nothing much also. All just restaurants. Was hoping to find cheap/fake basketball jerseys to wear for the NBA game but there weren't any. :( Dont' have much souvenirs as well. :( Overall, it was a pretty crap chinatown.

TD Banknorth Garden ... I was just too excited to get in to watch the NBA that I forgotten to take a picture of the building on the outside.. but this is the inside... hehehehe....

22/12

Breakfast was provided by the backpackers. Had bagels, yummy bagels. After that, the touring begins!

The very very famous Harvard University!!!
Where...we met Harvie the Snowman ...

Don't you think he's one super cool snowman? Ekekekekeke....

MIT ... not Manukau Institute of Technology! It's Massachusettes Institute of Technology. Went to the MIT museum as well. They had pretty cool stuff.

Look at the picture below. Who do you see? If you zoom in closer, who do you see now? Pretty cool eh?

Next stop ....

Quincy Market ... North Market ... South Market... where we had the opportunity to do some souvenir shopping.

Soon, we got hungry. Kim and I had cravings for KFC so we decided, KFC it is! But... we couldn't find a single KFC in the city!! It was getting dark hence we decided to go back to the backpackers and see if they know if there's any KFCs around.

We were in luck. There is a KFC in Boston but just not nearby. Instead of Harold and Kumar goes to White Castle, we found ourselves as Shermayne, Kim and Sham goes to KFC.

After passing over 15 metro stops, got lost in some dodgy looking neighbourhood, walked for 45 minutes .... we finally found it ...

It... was worth it. I gobbled up 3 chickens in less than 10 mins. And... it was the best KFC i ever tasted! Fine, I was probably bias but you can't blame me! It was the first time after 4 months not having KFC!!!

23/12

I ermmm.... somehow deleted the photos I took on this day. Hence, I can't exactly remember what we did. We took a walk at some park where they were giving out free starbucks peppermint hot chocolate, where I kissed two frogs statues (damn!! i really wanted those photos!!!!) and saw another outdoor ice skating ring.

We did some christmas shopping at Macy's and downtown Boston, Kim bought 5 pairs of shoes .... and our legs were pretty much sore at the end of the day. Returned to the backpackers where kim and sham packed as they were catching the bus back to Montreal that night. As for me, I stayed up pretty late using the internet and also packed as I had to leave early the next morning.

24/12

Rarely slept the night before. Perhaps only 2 hours of sleep? Woke up at 4am as my plane to Atlanta is at 7. I was contemplating whether or not to call a cab to pick me up from the backpackers and send me to the airport because of my broken backpack and the many things I have with me. It would costs 30 bucks. Whereas if I catch the metro and then transfer to the free shuttle bus .... it would be way much cheaper!! So... I'm sure you all know which option I chose instead. Thank goodness I woke up early so I had ample of time to drag my backpack from the backpackers to the metro and then in and out of the metro. I took my own sweet time alright. I got to the airport in one piece. So proud of myself and I saved 30 bucks!!! My body was aching all over but ..... 30 bucks...I could actually use that to go for a massage :p

So yeaa.. that's it for the Boston trip.

Atlanta trip was briefly blogged already so i won't be blogging about it anymore. For photos, go to facebook and see them :)

Now now, I'm off to blog about New York City and then I'm done!!!
