Last Post in Canada
So this is it. The end of my journey. A journey to be cherished forever indeed. What I wanted to say have mostly been said in my new year's post already.
Before coming for this exchange, I actually saw it as getting away from reality for 4.5 months. I saw it as a side-tracked journey of my life, where I have the opportunity to escape from the real world for a lil while. But the truth is, this exchange experience is a whole new chapter on itself. It gave me a taste on what reality actually is. On how one have to cope and survive outside their comfort zone. In a way, it has prepared me... To face the many challenges in life. To believe in myself, to be confident in myself, my decisions.
Today was my last day in Montreal. Weather was surprisingly warm, it was 7 celcius. I walked around with just one thermal and a coat. No scarf, no beanie, no gloves. Arrived at 4am and sat in a cafe till 10am so that I can check in to my backpackers. After that, I decided to walk around Montreal one last time. As I walked along the streets of downtown Montreal, I suddenly found myself missing the place. It was only today where I realized Montreal did actually have some sort of impact on me. If it doesn't, I wouldn't even think of missing it. Walked pass McGill and thought to myself ... Wow! This is really it. Goodbye to McGill. The top university in Canada, the top 12 university in the world. And I actually studied there. Bought some cookies from Provigo, the supermarket where I always get my groceries for the past few months. Soon, it'll be back to Countdown and Foodtown. I even walked to Old Montreal, just to see the old buildings one last time.
At night, after dinner with sam, I came home to start my packing. Took me 3 hours plus. And halfway.... my other half called me all the way from kiwiland and we talked for 15 minutes. Thanks swannie for calling me! Hope you like my sexy voice. hahaha!! So looking forward to go home! As I am afraid my luggage will be overweight, I came up with a plan. Tomorrow, I will be wearing my snowboarding pants, a track pants, two singlet, one t-shirt, two glassons hoodie and my ski jacket. Ahahaha!!! Have a feeling that my luggage will still be overweight. Just gta keep my fingers cross
Alright, time for me to go now. It's already 1am and my shuttle bus comes at 5am. Need to take a short power nap first. Besides, I paid 58 for this room, I need to at least sleep on the double bed
For now ...
Au Revoir Montreal!!!
